Things have not gone well for Metallurg Mg so far in the Gagarin Cup.

The KHL Eastern Conference’s top-ranked team currently finds themselves down 3-1 in the championship series against the Western Conference’s second-ranked SKA Saint Petersburg.

During Game 3 on Wednesday night, Metallurg Mg head coach Ilya Vorobyov made it very clear that he was not a fan of the officiating in the game, as he felt they were working in favour of his opponents.

SKA ended up winning the game 2-1 in double overtime, and then went on to win Game 4 on Friday night by a score of 3-2. However, following the game, Vorobyov and his staff found something interesting in their office.

According to Sports-Express’ hockey writer Igor Eronko, they Metallurg Mg coaches found a hidden recording device inside their office.

However, KHL insider Aivis Kalniņš reports that the team could be facing a fine if enough evidence is found.

Hopefully the gets to the bottom of this, because this is really shady stuff, especially during the championship round.
