Have you ever wondered whether a professional tennis player would be able to translate their skills to the ping pong table? Would they be relatively dominant as racket sport professionals, or would the intricacies and delicate touch of the game render pro tennis players to be just as good as the rest of us? Klay Thompson wants to find out.

It all started when Steve Kerr, coach of the Golden State Warriors team that Thompson plays for, relayed a conversation that apparently happened between the two star athletes.

While it seemed as though Klay may just be harmlessly wondering, Federer took to Twitter to solidify the entertaining challenge.

Thompson, who won a players tournament in Toronto two years ago, then responded an hour later confirming that he is game. Kerr also mentioned that during the tournament that Thompson became champion of, the all-star shooting guard wasn’t afraid to dish out a little trash talk.

Whether this was all just talk or if a showdown could actually happen remains to be seen, but for now we can all imagine the fun idea if it were to come to fruition.
