During the NBA season, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns had one of those nights players dream about.

Against the Celtics, Booker scored 70 points in a loss, but earned the respect of everyone in the league, including Kobe Bryant.

Booker, who's just 20-years-old, is one of the bright young stars in the NBA, but he still has a long, long way to go to catch Kobe, and those watching his 70-point-game couldn't help but think that Bryant scored 11 more points than that against the Raptors in 2006.

Kobe was in another zone on that January night, and the guy tasked with guarding him (Jalen Rose) had no chance.

Rose, who is now a fan favourite for the wonderful job he does on ESPN's NBA coverage, was reminded by Bryant about the 81-point game in this funny commercial for his sitcom pilot.

The sitcom 'Jalen vs. Everybody' follows Rose as he "juggles his career responsibilities with the challenges of being a single dad," as per IMDb.

Over the years, Rose has heard a lot about the 81-point game, especially on social media from fans, and he's actually been known to block people on Twitter that mentioned it to him.

He also used to respond to people that would tweet at him about it.

That fact alone makes the joke by Kobe that much more enjoyable.
