Professional sports franchises show love for other teams from the same city by collaborating on some sort of theme night during the regular season. Since the NHL season is a few weeks away, MLB teams have started inviting representatives from NHL franchises to their games to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

The Arizona Diamonbacks, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds and Texas Rangers have all had NHL representatives out to their games to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and now you can add the Boston Red Sox to that list.

On Tuesday night, the Red Sox hosted their annual Boston Bruins Night at the ballpark. Bruins defencemen Torey Krug, Adam McQuaid, Brandon Carlo and Charlie McAvoy were all in attendance, and so was head coach Bruce Cassidy.

Only one of the Bruins representatives got to throw out the ceremonial first pitch and they let coach Cassidy do the honours.

Fans who attended the game also got to go home with a special souvenir, which was a Tuukka Rask bobblehead that featured the Bruins goalie in both his goalie gear and Red Sox catcher gear.

We're looking forward to Bruins Night at Fenway tonight! See you there, @RedSox. πŸ’βšΎοΈ
