The day will most likely never come where we see an athlete agree with their assigned player rating in a video game. Even elite level NFL players with 99 overall ratings in Madden probably aren't all that satisfied they're just shy of 100, with the exception of maybe 2004 Michael Vick.

This past Monday, Philadelphia 76ers centre Joel Embiid was told his 86 rating in NBA 2K18, and was not pleased he wasn’t a 95 rating.

Well, the 2K18 cover athlete Kyrie Irving was also expecting a 95 or higher rating, and since he was featured on the cover of the game, he assumed that would be a given. Unfortunately for Irving, he was also displeased when told his rating.

With the way 2K18 is currently giving out player ratings, it’s looking more and more like every player in the league is going to have a chip on their shoulder this year due to video game ratings. But hey, whatever motivation they need to climb to the top of the 2K ratings board!
