There's nothing like international hockey.

Yes, we all love watching and cheering on our favourite NHL team, but there's something different and unique about supporting your country in an international tournament.

In case you've been watching too much playoff hockey, the 2017 IIHF World Championship is underway, and although many superstars are still playing in the playoffs, there's still a ton of talent at the tournament.

There have already been some incredible moments in the tournament, one of which occurred on Saturday.

Latvia and Denmark battled in each other in their opening game of the tournament, and goaltender Elvis Merzļikins stole the show as he made 27 saves for the shutout win.

As noteworthy as Merzļikins play was in between the pipes, it was his celebration after the victory that will make you a fan of his.

And if that isn't enough to make you a fan of his, maybe this will:

Merzļikins' toughest tests still await as Latvia has to face Sweden and the United States in their final two preliminary round games.
