Thursday, Big Baller Brand unveiled Lonzo Ball's first-ever signature shoe. Of course with LaVar Ball being the mastermind behind the unveiling, the launch was not without controversy, with the majority of the heat coming due to the incredibly steep price tag of $495 USD.

That's right...for the price of one LeBron 14, a Kyrie Irving 3 and a Steph Curry 3, you can get one pair of Lonzo's Z02 Primes. So why the high price tag for a pair of Ultra Boost Kobe Jordan 11's? Friday, LaVar appeared on the Dan LeBatard show to discuss the launch of the BBB Z02's, as well as the hefty price that comes with it.

"495 sounds better. I like 3 different digits." How the Ball family thinks that Lonzo's signature shoe will compete with the major three in the North American sportswear market, we don't know. But if it does somehow pan out...the Ball family will be enjoying a major payday, and they'll certainly have paved their way into the sportswear history books.

It seems highly unlikely, though, as it takes a solid product alongside a marketable star to sell a shoe. Last time we checked, Nike, Adidas and Under Armour have world-class design teams to go alongside their revolutionary research and development departments.
