For the first time since the Leafs collapsed in Game 7 against the Bruins, Toronto was back on the ice in the playoffs Thursday night.

The Buds had their hands full against the best team in the East, the Capitals, and they jumped out to an early 2-0 lead which shocked many fans.

Unfortunately, just like that Game 7, the Leafs blew a lead (this one was much less devastating) and lost to the Capitals 3-2 in overtime thanks to Tom Wilson.

There were many emotions fans were feeling after a tough Game 1 loss on the road.

One of those emotions was frustration, and understandably so.

Other fans, however, are still very hopeful, which makes sense considering Toronto proved they could play with Washington and they're only down 1-0 in the series.

Leaf fans are some of the most passionate in all of sports, the different emotions aren't surprising in the slightest.

What is surprising, though, is how well they played for a young team in their first playoff game together, and they'll try and build on that Saturday night as they look to even the series.
