The NBA season opened up with two incredible matchups Tuesday night, one of which pitted LeBron James and his Cavs up against Kyrie Irving and his Celtics.

The game was overshadowed by the horrific injury Gordon Hayward suffered in the first quarter, but once the game got underway again, it was a battle until the end and both LeBron and Kyrie put on a show.

As fate would have it, with Cleveland up three in the final seconds of the game, Irving got the ball and hoisted up a shot over James in an attempt to tie the game.

The shot fell short, though, and the two embraced with a heartwarming hug.

After a summer full of reports about the supposed bad blood between the two that LeBron forcefully denied, it's heartwarming to see the two former teammates embrace like that.

It was also really cool to see Kyrie do all the old handshakes he used to with his teammates after the loss.
