Linus Omark deserves to be in the NHL for his entertaining shootout moves alone.

Every year you’ll see a handful of players do lacrosse style goals, bat the puck out of the air or pull off the Forsberg, but those have become somewhat routine. There’s never anything routine about what Omark does. Funny enough, some of his most famous moves aren’t even a very high degree of difficulty, but they’re definitely entertaining.

For example, this clapper that he open with a weird flip of the puck and 360 spin. It’s totally unnecessary, but you know what? So is the shootout…

That’s a true entertainer. The opening move added basically nothing to his actual goal except perhaps making the goalie confused as to what was coming next. In fact, we’re going with that. The move perplexed the goalie, because there’s no way after seeing that he was expected a full blown clapper from the hashmarks.

If you’re wondering why we crowned Omark the King of Fun in shootouts, well, this isn’t his first spin-o-rama. He pulled off something similar in the NHL when he was playing for the Oilers – only that time, he faked the slapshot.

However, easily his greatest move is the one that he invented, but often gets credited to the true King of the shootout: Pavel Datsyuk.
