The superfight between Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is just over three weeks away and McGregor is now short a sparring partner.

The reigning UFC Lightweight Champion has been sparring with former professional boxer Paulie Malignaggi, but all of that came to an end on Thursday when the 36-year-old decided to call it quits and left Team McGregor.

It turns out Malignaggi was not pleased with the content that McGregor’s team was posting on social media feeds because everything they posted made it look like McGregor was having his way with Malignaggi.

Although the photo was not shared out by a verified Team McGregor account, Malignaggi explained to his followers that the only photographers allowed in the gym during the sparring are McGregor’s photographers so he believes it had to have been one of them.

After going on a little rant and replying to people who tried to bash him and call him out, the 36-year-old put together one large note to share with everyone and made it his pinned tweet.

We’ll most likely never know what actually happened inside the gym while the two were sparring, as both sides are going to back themselves, but it will be interesting to see if McGregor chimes in on all of this and gives his side of the story.
