Unfortunately for Washington Capitals fans, the 2017 Stanley Cup playoffs were the same old song and dance for the team. While they battled back from being down 3-1 in the second round series to push a Game 7, they just couldn't get past the Pittsburgh Penguins in that seventh game.

For the second straight year, the Capitals were eliminated by the Penguins in the second round of the playoffs, and for the third straight year, Washington exited the postseason in the second round.

The loss not only guarantees once again that Washington won't be getting a Cup, but it further separates Sidney Crosby from Alex Ovechkin in regards to legacy. But what about Evgeni Malkin's legacy?

As everyone talked about Crosby and Ovi on the ice, Malkin was on Instagram keeping his off-ice legacy intact.

The Penguins forward was on the Russia Hockey Instagram page, and saw a comment on a picture of Ovi he just couldn't help but 'like.'

Evgeni Malkin vs. Alex Ovechkin might be the real rivalry everyone should be talking about.
