James Paxton has been lights out this season for the Seattle Mariners.

The Ladner, British Columbia native is having a career season right across the board, as he currently owns an 11-3 record with a 2.68 ERA and 125 strikeouts in 107.1 innings pitched.

Pretty good, eh? 🍁

Paxton is one of the main reasons why the Mariners are still fighting for a Wild Card spot in the American League, and the fans and team have found a pretty cool way to honour the 28-year-old starting pitcher.

The team and fans have dedicated a section inside Safeco Field to Paxton called ‘Maple Grove’. The section features a maple tree with Paxton’s face on it and the classic strikeout “K” signs have been replaced with “EH” signs.

Paxton’s nickname is 'The Big Maple' and even he takes some time out of his day to visit and maintain Maple Grove whenever he can.

What does @alstonpaxton do between starts? Tend to the #MapleGrove, of course.

The 28-year-old was untouchable throughout July, as he posted a 6-0 record and struck out 46 batters in 29.1 innings while posting a 1.37 ERA.
