Athletes, like everyone else in life, have their superstitions or rituals.

Things like listening to certain songs before every game, having a certain meal, or even taking a specific route to the dressing room are examples of superstitions or rituals athletes have.

As funny as that last example sounds, Leafs rookies Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner take the longer route to get to Toronto's dressing room and they've been doing it all season.

Sure, they might get chirped (only by Tyler Bozak) as most players go through the side entrance to get to the dressing room, but the fact that Matthews and Marner stick together and go their own way is a pretty telling sign of what kind of friendship the two have.

Plus, it's also pretty cool they've become friends with the guys that work the doors and gave them a shoutout.

Marner, Matthews and the Buds get back on the ice Thursday as they start a three-game road trip in Nashville.
