Mitch Marner is one of the most popular athletes in Toronto, and as a result has clearly become a prime candidate to receive endorsement deals.

Of course, many deals nowadays come in the form of social media posts, and the Leafs have a tendency to give each other a bit of a ribbing online. It makes sense, if you look back at your own posts on any social media, 50% of the comments are usually your friends chirping you. Now imagine if you turned those posts into an ad, you're bound to get your buddies barking in the comments.

In Marner's latest post, in which he respectfully labeled the post an "#ad", that's exactly what happened.

Then came his buddies. The chirps came from all directions, as the usual suspects dove into the comment section (Auston Matthews, Matt Martin & Connor Carrick), but even recent Hockey Canada teammate and travel buddy Alex Killorn jumped in on the fun.

It's all in good fun, as we're sure they all support Marner's decision to get paid, and with all the attention they get (We can't stop writing about hockey players chirping each other), we're sure the others won't be far behind in mixing in a couple of ads.

P.K. Subban certainly took advantage during the playoffs after all the Listerine talk in the Final.
