The Canada Games are underway in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and young athletes from all around the country are showing off their stuff.

One of those athletes is 17-year-old left-handed pitcher and Lower Sackville native Jaden Griffin, who is suiting up for Team Nova Scotia baseball. The lefty is a member of the Canadian National Junior Baseball team, and part of the Vauxhall Baseball Academy in Vauxhall, Alberta, where he combines his baseball training with getting an education.

Griffin will be eligible in the 2018 MLB First-Year Player Draft, where he hopes to be selected by one of the 30 major league teams.

After a game against Team Ontario, Griffin chatted with TSN about his favourite baseball movie, the importance of representing Nova Scotia, and much more.

Check out Canada Games Men’s Baseball LIVE on TSN3 and TSN4 on Monday night at 7pm CT, to see the hometown Team Manitoba take on Team PEI at Shaw Park in Winnipeg.
