After leading the Penguins to a Stanley Cup last season, Sidney Crosby has carried over his incredible play from the final into this season.

Sid leads the league in goals with 30 and he's one point back of Connor McDavid in the points department.  The Pens are also a ridiculous 22-3-3 at home this season and are currently in third place in the Metropolitan division, nine points behind Washington for first.

Add in the fact that Crosby is just two points away from 1,000 for his career and you can see that everything's sunshine and rainbows for Sid in the Steel City.

That being said, the last few games might be considered "frustrating," and we use that word very loosely, for Crosby.  Saturday night against Arizona, he tried to get back on track, but Mike Smith wanted no part of being on the wrong side of history, and he did everything he could to annoy or get under Sid's skin to ensure he wouldn't be.

That's a unique way to attempt to annoy another player to say the least, but it worked considering Crosby was held pointless in the 4-3 overtime loss to the Coyotes.  Furthermore, it's the second consecutive game he's been held pointless.

We imagine the pointless streak won't reach three games, but it very well could considering Crosby has 9 points in 11 games against the Canucks in his career and is a minus 10 against them.

On the other hand, Sid could easily go off and reach the 1,000 point mark when the two teams meet on Tuesday.
