There’s something about Augusta that brings out the best in Mike Weir.
Fourteen years after he took home the Green Jacket, Weir was at Augusta again today to participate in the Par 3 Contest and he stole the show. Partly because many people didn’t get to participate, but also because he did what everyone is there to try and do.
Mike Weir drained an ace.
Not only that, he was leading the field when the tournament was called off.
Hopefully the good fortune continues for Weir as he is one of three Canadians in the field. Regardless of the outcome, we feel like Weir should be able to claim the trophy for this year’s Par 3 Contest. As the only person to hit a hole-in-one, he should be a part of trivia for years to come.
