Does every member of the Toronto Argonauts defence have dreadlocks? It sure feels like it sometimes, as we see helmets flying around the field with dreads flowing in the wind while the D is on the field.

In reality, six members of the Argos defence have dreadlocks, and they’re making themselves known around the CFL as ‘The Dreaded D.’ The members of ‘The Dreaded D’ are Marcus Ball, Ken Bishop, Johnny Sears, Akwasi Owusu-Ansah, Bear Woods, Rico Murray, and Alan-Michael Cash – and they’re using their dreadlocks as a way to unify the defence and create chemistry between the group.

Let’s take a look at why they’re called The Dreaded D by looking at each and every member:
