The Aberdeen IronBirds and the Tri-City ValleyCats wrapped up their recent three games series with a rubber match in Troy, New York, on Monday evening.

The ValleyCats ended up taking the series finale 4-3 in front of their home crowd, but it was a member of the visitors who made the play of the night.

With the game tied in the bottom of the fourth inning, IronBirds outfielder T.J. Nichting went above and beyond to make one of the greatest catches we’ve seen all summer.

The 22-year-old rookie was selected in the 9th round of the 2017 MLB June Amateur Draft by the Baltimore Orioles and he’s showing his organization he’s willing to do whatever it takes in order to get the out for his club.

It’s even better that he got up right away with the ball in his glove because that’s easily one of the greatest catches we’ve ever seen.
