There's a reason why we don't see fireworks set off before or after NHL games, and the hockey world was reminded of that fact Saturday night.

The Johnstown Tomahawks of the NAHL invited Hockey Hall of Famer Paul Coffey to drop the ceremonial puck for their home opener against the Philadelphia Rebels.

To welcome the legend, they set off fireworks and we can bet you can guess what happened next:

The smoke didn't clear when Coffey came out to drop the puck, either.

And if you're searching for a cool picture from in the arena, look no further than this one from Reddit User clark6050.

So, what did we learn from this experience?  As awesome an idea as it was to welcome the Stanley Cup champions with pyrotechnics, there are much better options that don't fill the arena with smoke.
