Now that the NHL season is over, every team has their sights set on winning the Stanley Cup next season.

The offseason is all about positive hype and although hockey fans think they have a good idea of who will be competing for a Cup next season, right now every team thinks they've got what it takes to be the last squad standing.

Aside from the draft and free agency, the offseason is also the time for teams to make changes and hire people to fill out their coaching staff.

Monday, the Florida Panthers officially announced the hiring of former NHLer Bob Boughner to be the team's new head coach.

Boughner played for a number of teams over the course of his NHL career that ended after the 2005-06 season.

He then transitioned to coaching and did a wonderful job leading the Windsor Spitfires to two OHL and Memorial Cup championships in 2008-09 and 2009-10.

The 46-year-old now faces the challenge of turning the Panthers franchise into a winner, and Monday he did a number of interviews that gave fans a glimpse of who he is as a coach.

In one interview with 560WQAM, Boughner discussed analytics in hockey and his take on them may have won over some fans.

At the end of the day, it's all about wins and losses and since the 1993-94 season, Florida's first in the NHL, they've been to the playoffs just five times.

Boughner isn't dismissing analytics entirely, but he's not buying into them fully, either, and while his answer may not satisfy analytics supporters, it seems to have satisfied Panthers fans.
