For the better part of our collective childhoods here at BarDown we have been playing sports video games. NHL, FIFA, NBA 2K, Madden, NCAA College Baseball, Rockstar Table Tennis...you name it we've played it.

So what happens when you spend just as much time in front of a screen playing sports games as you do watching live sporting events? Every thought we have gets passed through a distinct, pixel based filter. With that we present to you our newest series...Thumb League.

This week, it’s the start of the NHL’s biggest current (somewhat media driven) rivalry between the Penguins and Capitals has its next installment. The Penguins have fared pretty well in the rivalry, as the last two times they played in the playoffs Pittsburgh won and ended up winning the cup.

Just because the Capitals have always lost to the Pens in the playoffs doesn’t make it Ovi’s fault. Still people still find a way to blame him.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens in this series, but in our mind it definitely won’t be Ovi’s fault. Seriously, he has 85 points in 90 games.
