If you browsed Twitter today or last night, almost everyone was cheering on the narrative-flipping performance from Tom Brady. Almost everyone.

Initially, it was fair to say that many people would be rooting for the Falcons to win. People were getting tired of the Patriots dominance, but the way that the game played out, it was hard not to root for the epic comeback. However, some hockey players and other athletes were all-in on the Falcons from the beginning and they took it pretty hard when the dust settled.

Mika Zibanejad might be the biggest Falcons fan in the NFL. He was tweeting and Instagraming leading up to the game. At the end of the game, only one word could some up he felt.

Kasperi Kapanen

@kasperikapanen1 and I jumped on the @atlantafalcons bandwagon big time - who's with us?!! #riseup #sb51

Kapanen was late to the band wagon (along with Brooks Laich), but he took it just as hard regardless. After the game ended, he tweeted the following:

We’re not sure if Kapanen learned his lesson, but we know our next contestant did.

Jacob Chychrun

So we had a die-hard, a new found fan and of course the person who bet on the game. Chychrun clearly had something riding on the game, which is what he is suggesting by learning the “hard way”. Never bet against Tom Brady.

We also saw these other athletes tweet out in anger/sadness after the Falcons blew a seemingly unlosable lead.

Other Athletes

Bouchard had probably more reason to be shocked by the whole event, as she is now going on a date with a random twitter user because of the loss. Of course, athletes weren’t the only ones upset with the loss. Shad “Bow Wow” Moss went on a Twitter tirade after the game:

WARNING: NSFW.

As many people said, it’s probably best not to bet against Tom Brady.
