NHLers proved all interviews should be done on FaceTime on Free Agent Frenzy

Over the weekend, we had the last big event in the NHL as unrestricted free agents were free to sign with new teams starting at noon on July 1.

As they do every year, the TSN Hockey Panel had Canadians covered for everything that was happening on the day, including comments from the players themselves. “Phoners” as they call them are somewhat of a tradition to get reactions from the players and allow them to tell their side of the story, but those were usually done over the phone.

On Saturday, they were done over FaceTime, and there were some funny moments with the athletes.

First up, was Karl Alzner, who was the first up and was clearly still getting the hang of it as he started out extremely close to the camera. From there, we saw some bedhead and some kids join the call.

After watching those, we demand that all future interviews be done by FaceTime. You’re bound to get some candid and interesting moments with the athletes feeling a little more comfortable at home.
