In October of 2016, Ottawa Senators goaltender Craig Anderson's wife, Nicholle, was diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. The goalie missed some time throughout the season to be with Nicholle, yet still managed to have one of the best seasons of his NHL career.

On Thursday night, the Senators remarkable playoff run came to an end, losing to the defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins in double overtime of Game 7.

Despite her personal struggles, Nicholle was right beside her husband Craig every step of the way, and was there cheering on the Senators. After the loss, she took to Twitter to let the Senators players and fans know just how proud she was of all of them.

Every day seems to present Craig and Nicholle with new challenges, and it's inspirational to see them face each challenge together.

We can't help but think back to the Game 6 win against Boston, when we got to see a beautiful moment of the two embracing.

Both Craig and Nicholle are an inspiration to the entire hockey community.
