The Drew League was established by Alvin Wills back in 1973 in hopes of giving young men and women of South Central Los Angeles a place to learn life lessons through basketball. It originally started out as a local summer league with six teams, but in the league’s 44 years of existence it has expanded to 28 teams and has featured many past and present NBA superstars including Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, James Harden and DeMar DeRozan.

This year’s Summer League is currently in progress and once again features plenty of NBA players and upcoming talent. Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan is playing in this year’s tournament and reminded everyone in attendance why he’s a three-time NBA All-Star in a recent game this past weekend.

DeRozan’s team went up against top-ranked high school player Marvin Bagley III’s team in a recent game and the two found themselves squaring off for most of the game. As you probably expected, the youngster found it a little tough going one-on-one with the Olympic gold medalist.

Bagley attempted to guard DeRozan one-on-one, but the Raptors’ guard managed to make the youngster fall to the ground in his attempt to guard him and then gave him a quick reminder about who the NBA veteran is by tossing him the ball right after scoring.

DeRozan finished with 30 points in the game, while Bagley ended up with 32 of his own.
