If the 2016-2017 NHL season wasn’t enough of a coming out party for Toronto Maple Leafs rookie William Nylander, then the IIHF World Championships definitely was.

After leading Sweden with 14 points through 10 games, the 21-year-old was named the MVP of the tournament.

After an intense battle against Canada, Henrik Lundqvist sealed the deal after he stopped Leafs rookie Mitch Marner in the shootout. The first player to greet Hank was none other than Nylander, and by the looks of it, he nearly took his head off.

It’s hard to blame Nylander for being so energized, but the 35-year-old goaltender probably felt the repercussions from it the next morning.

The Swedes sure do know how to celebrate a championship win in style.
