After averaging a triple-double in 81 regular season games, it was no surprise to hear Russell Westbrook take home the NBA MVP honours at the NBA Awards in New York on Monday night.

Not many people were arguing against Westbrook for NBA MVP, but there were still some people who do not think he deserved it. However, it’s all said and done now and the city couldn’t be happier for Westbrook.

On Tuesday, MidFirst Bank in Oklahoma City draped a massive banner over the side of the building, congratulating Westbrook on his recent achievement.

The city has backed Westbrook since day one and they amped up that support once Kevin Durant ditched them for the Golden State Warriors.
