Ever since the release of NHL Hitz 2003, there has been a void in the arcade hockey video game genre that's never quite been filled.

Old Time Hockey is looking to fix that. From developers V7 Entertainment, comes an arcade style hockey game set in the 70's, featuring a fictional league named the 'Bush Hockey League.' What it lacks in licensing, OTH makes up for in pure nostalgia. We're talking no buckets, full line brawls and sweaters that look like they've been taken right out of the Slap Shot film series. All presented in a graphical style reminiscent of both NHL 94 and the N64 classic, Wayne Gretzky 3D Hockey.

Among the notable features announced by V7 are Story Mode, Co-Op, as well as a two-button control scheme called "Beer Mode" that will allow players to play with one hand, leaving your second hand free to hold whatever you would like (perhaps a bevy).

Unfortunately, OTH will not feature an online multiplayer mode, meaning you'll have to get all your multiplayer arcade kicks on a couch with your pals. Sorry, not intercontinental chirping.

Look out for Old Time Hockey, which is set to launch on Xbox One, PS4 and PC in early 2017.
