There's no such thing as a lazy Sunday during the summer after the free agency window opens in both the NHL and the NBA.

Kyle Lowry may have started the free agent party on Saturday night, announcing his return to the Toronto Raptors a 3-year deal, but it was Patrick Marleau who set off the largest set of fireworks, with the Maple Leafs announcing that they had signed the veteran to a 3-year deal as well. After Marleau's teammate, Joe Thornton, reportedly re-signed with the Sharks, most Leafs fans likely thought that no Sharks would be making the trip up north this summer. How wrong (and surprised they were).

Here's how the hockey world reacted to the news that Marleau is the newest member of the Maple Leafs.

Alright, so that's how the media felt about the deal, but how did Dart Guy feel about Marleau joining his favourite team next season (we only ask the important questions here).

Dart Guy is officially on board, but how did other hockey fans feel about the Leafs making a splash with Marleau?

It's pretty clear that Sharks fans are quite sad to see the veteran go, and it's also pretty clear that Leafs fans are being cautiously optimistic because of Marleau's age. With that comes our next question...where will the Leafs finish next season after their latest signing?
