The Washington Capitals flew out United Arab Emirates female hockey player Fatima Al Ali to Washington, D.C., earlier this week and have provided her with the ultimate hockey experience ever since she landed.

On Wednesday, the 26-year-old Al Ali got to get in some drills with her favourite team following their morning practice, and the players certainly made her feel like a member of the team right from the get-go.

Aside from joining the Capitals on the ice and getting to take part in drills with them, Al Ali also got a very special gift from her favourite player, Alexander Ovechkin.

The ultimate hockey experience continued for Al Ali on Thursday night, as she got to drop the puck for the ceremonial faceoff ahead of the Washington Capitals-Detroit Red Wings game.

However, when you travel more than 10,000 km to get to your destination, you don’t just drop a puck and walk away, you stop and take a selfie to remember the special moments.

Nothing like getting a quick selfie with Alexander Ovechkin and Henrik Zetterberg. This is without a doubt one of the best NHL-related selfies we have ever seen.

It really doesn’t get any better than that. Even if she didn’t get to practice with the Capitals, this picture makes the entire trip worthwhile.
