The Montreal Canadiens made a franchise altering trade last offseason, swapping arguably the team's most popular player at the time, P.K. Subban, for defenseman Shea Weber. Since his departure to Nashville, Subban has maintained a fantastic relationship with the Montreal Children's Hospital, and is still committed to working with them in fundraising and to provide assistance to families of sick children.

On Thursday night, Subban will be back at the Bell Centre for a game for the first time since he was a Canadien, but on Wednesday he was back at the hospital to visit with the children, and receive an award for his charity work.

The Prime Minister even congratulated Subban on the honour.

Subban will be back on the ice in Montreal on Thursday, and said he's not sure how he will be feeling in the moment.

What will the reception be for #PKSubban as he returns to Montreal for the first time?

John Lu has been documenting Subban's day back at the rink Thursday morning.

Canadiens who are traded are commonly booed on their return, but will that be the case for Subban?
