Wednesday night was a frustrating one for the Toronto Maple Leafs for many reasons.

Not only did they fall to the Florida Panthers 2-1 in a shootout, but the team's scoring struggles continued as they could only get one past Roberto Luongo.

The Leafs have now scored one goal or fewer in three of their last four games, but for the second time in three games, Nazem Kadri found the back of the net and with his goal against the Panthers, his point streak extended to eight games.

Late in the third period of the loss to the Panthers, though, Kadri may have let his emotions get the best of him as he took a retaliatory penalty that could have cost the Leafs.

Furthermore, out of frustration, Kadri slammed his stick when he got in the box and it accidentally hit the penalty box official in the face, and he wasn't happy to say the least.

Emotions got the best of Kadri in that moment and the outcome was unfortunate to say the least because he obviously had no intention of hitting anyone, he was just frustrated.

You have to respect the penalty box official for giving it to Kadri, though, and we're sure once the Leafs forward realized what he had accidentally done, he apologized.

Truth is, Kadri isn't the first player to slam his stick out of frustration and he won't be the last.  We just hope nobody gets hit the next time a player does it.
