Christmas is a day meant to be spent with family, but unfortunately for some athletes in the NBA and NFL, the quality family time will have to wait as they have games to play, and important ones at that.

That being said, NHL players don't have that problem as they have Christmas off and teams don't play again until December 27th.

The schedule for any athlete is tough, so having time off to enjoy such a special holiday with family and friends is important, and on Christmas Eve, Phil Kessel spent some time with his friends Nick Bonino and Matt Cullen and their families.

Game night wasn't the only thing Kessel participated in.  He also took some time to play hockey with Cullen's kids.

If we could have anything for Christmas, playing hockey with 'Phil The Thrill' would be what we would want.

Those kids will always remember that Christmas when they got the chance to play hockey in their basement with a Stanley Cup champion and all around beauty, and really that's what Christmas is all about, making incredible memories.
