Let kids be kids. Apparently there is a quiet minority of people that just can’t stand the noise of children playing, because time after time, stories like this pop up.

While enjoying a game of street hockey in Janesville, Wisconsin, a group of kids had the cops called on them in an effort to break up their game. The cops then surprised everybody but not only joining in on the game, but by blocking off the street so the kids didn’t have to have the annoying “CAR!” stoppages throughout the game.

The officers names, according to ABC News were Officer Jeremy Wiley, Officer Derek Mussey and Sergeant Jimmy Holford III, and they started playing 3-on-3 with the kids. As usual, the cops did eventually speak to the children about safer areas that they could play the game, but obviously it felt a little less confrontational after playing street hockey with them for half an hour.

One thing that does seem a little odd is in the caption where it says they were "Too cool to go around". The rules go both ways, you have to yell "CAR!" and move if there's a car.

We may see stories pop up like this more often like this in the Toronto area now that the street hockey ban has been lifted.
