The Canadian Hockey League is a hotbed for highlight reel goals and massive hits, so it’s no surprise that Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Jordy Bellerive opened up a recent Western Hockey League game between the Hurricanes and the Red Deer Rebels with a highlight reel goal of his own.

Halfway through the opening frame, Bellerive received a pass at centre ice and ended up doing the rest of the work from there on in, making two defenders and the goalie look absolutely ridiculous in the meantime.

The 17-year-old North Vancouver, BC native left both defenders in his dust, before tucking the puck by the goalie for  his 17th goal of the season. Last season, Bellerive finished with 11 goals and 36 points in 65 WHL games, and already has 17 goals and 36 points through 40 games this season. He is eligible for this summer’s NHL Entry Draft and is expected to go in the third or fourth round.
