The Montreal Canadiens face a familiar foe in the first round of the playoffs in the form of the New York Rangers.

Hockey fans know the recent postseason history between these two teams as the Rangers beat the Habs in the Eastern Conference Finals back in 2014 in six games.

All Montreal fans could talk about during that series, though, was the how they may have advanced to the Stanley Cup Final if not for the injury Carey Price suffered after Chris Kreider collided with him.

Since then, though, based on the stats, Price has been absolutely dominant against the Rangers, which is good news for Habs fans.

That tweet translated reads this: 'Last defeat of Carey Price against the Rangers: May 17, 2014 game collision with Kreider.
Since this game: 7-0-0 1.33, 954 2 JB.'

7-0, 1.33 goals against average, .954 save percentage, and two shutouts since his last loss to the Rangers.

Furthermore, in terms of Price's career numbers against New York, it's safe to say he loves facing the Rangers:

So, Montreal fans can take comfort in Price stopping pucks in their first round series, but they might have to worry about their team scoring goals.

Luckily, it looks like Max Pacioretty will be good to go after getting high-sticked by a teammate in practice Tuesday.
