It's never too early to be thinking about next year's draft, especially when you consider the fact that the 2017 NHL Draft just passed.

With the first pick in the 2017 #NHLDraft, the #Devils select #NicoHischier.

Who will follow Nico Hischier as next year's first overall pick?  Look no further than the projected first overall pick in 2018, Rasmus Dahlin.

The 17-year-old Swedish defenceman stole the show at the World Juniors this past year and is incredibly skilled to say the least.

Friday, Dahlin showed off his skills at the Newport Next Skills Competition and flashed a bit of Pavel Datsyuk.

Looks familiar, right?  The Magic Man has some competition.

Dahlin was one of many prospects that showed off their filthy hands in the skills competition and based on the talent on the display, the future of hockey is in great hands.

Another great week of learning, training and development. An outstanding group of young prospects with bright futures #NewportNext2017
