You’re most likely going to hear the name ‘Jack Hughes’ a lot over the next year and a half.

The 16-year-old is projected to be the top prospect taken in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft and there’s a very good chance he holds on to that title until the 2019 draft arrives.

Currently playing with the USA Hockey National Team Development Program in the USHL, the young centre put his hands on display in a game against the Green Bay Gamblers this past weekend.

The Orlando, Florida native put together a nice individual effort and capped it all off with a beautiful goal to extend USA’s lead to two goals. Through his first three game, Hughes has two goals and leads the team with five assists and seven points.

Hughes played Minor Midget AAA hockey with the Toronto Marlboros and scored 81 goals and added a whopping 151 assists for 232 points in 113 games.
