Monday, the Toronto Raptors were delivered a large injury blow, with the team announcing that Kyle Lowry will be undergoing surgery on his wrist and will "aim" to be back for the playoffs.

The news came as a surprise, as originally Lowry's injury was described as nothing significant, with the point guard being listed as day-to-day.

Although the tweet shared by the Raptors lists the playoffs as Lowry's possible return date, according to Adrian Wojnarowski there may be a chance that the guard returns prior to the end of the season.

So how will Lowry's absence from the lineup affect the Raptors post season push? As ESPN noted, Lowry leads the league in minutes per game. Roster depth is the key to answering that question.

Obviously as soon as it was announced that Lowry could potentially miss the remainder of the regular season, fans on Twitter were filled with a whirlwind of emotions. With reactions remaining from optimistic to downright angry, questioning what effect the guards decision to participate in the All Star Game festivities had on his wrist.

Leo Rautins was quick to throw his hat into the ring on the "Lowry vs. All-Star Game" debate, expressing that there was no issue with the guard traveling to New Orleans for All-Star Weekend.

What are your thoughts on how Lowry's injury will affect the Raptors' playoff push?
