After all the build-up and trashtalking was over, Floyd Mayweather came out on top and improved his perfect undefeated record to 50-0 following a 10th round technical knockout victory over Conor McGregor at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

With the win, Mayweather supplanted Rocky Marciano’s all-time best 49-0 record, and can now ride his flawless record into his second stint of retirement with the best record in boxing history.

In the early stage, McGregor looked impressive, catching Floyd with a strong left uppercut and won the first three-rounds of the match. He attacked from different angles, demonstrated first-rate footwork, and earned the respect from even the bigger naysayers for his commendable striking ability.

But it came at a cost, as the Irishmen started to fatigue. In the fourth round, Mayweather started to pick up on Conor’s drop in energy levels, and became more aggressive landing right-hand after right-hand. The momentum started to shift towards Mayweather, and Floyd took control of the bout.

In signature Mayweather fashion, the 40-year-old took control of the bout, and at 1:05 of the 10th round, victory was in Mayweather’s back pocket.
