Rasmus Dahlin is 16 years old and is playing D for Team Sweden at the 2017 World Junior Hockey Championships.

Not only is he playing, but so far, he’s looking like a star. Sweden is beating up on Denmark in their first game of the tournament and much of the focus has been placed on Dahlin. He is eligible to be drafted I 2018 and many people feel he could contend for the 1st overall draft position.

While against a weaker opponent, he has stood out so far, making several nice plays and sniping this shot from the point.

Again, he’s only 16 years old and that wasn’t even the first headline he’s made in his career. This was him in November while playing for Frolunda in Sweden.

With so many great defensemen coming from Sweden, many people are already starting to make comparisons to Erik Karlsson, Nicklas Lidstrom. And not just because of this tournament, he was earning such high praise as far back as early November.

There is one other player born in 2000 in the tournament. Nico Gross, a defenseman representing Switzerland, was born three months before Dahlin, in January of 2000.
