Game 2 of the World Series between the Astros and Dodgers was one of the craziest displays of baseball that we’ve ever seen.

It all started with Vin Scully on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch that he audibled in an epic manner.

Justin Verlander was on the bump for the Astros, and he came out dealing.

Alex Bregman, who scored the Astros only run in their Game 1 loss on a homer, got Houston on the board again when he ripped an RBI single that knocked the hat off Dodgers centre fielder Chris Taylor, who tried to lay out and make a highlight reel catch.

The ball actually save a run for Los Angeles, as the ball ricocheted right to Joc Pederson.

Pederson would go on to tie the ballgame at ones when he hit his first home run since July 26. Pederson had a rough 2017 campaign, as he fell out of sorts in the Dodgers’ lineup when the team bulked up for their post-season run.  With Verlander sporting a no-hitter into the fifth inning, it only made sense that the man that hit .123 following that homer back in July broke up the no-hit bid.

Over to one of the stranger moments of the game, which was only visible if you were watching it on television.

The Astros centre fielder had his bead blocked out by a CGI Masterpass advertisement on the Fox broadcast. Even though that wasn’t obviously supposed to happen, it created for a great inadvertent marketing ploy.

Then all the craziness in the game occurred. The Dodgers bullpen finally managed to allow a run, as Houston rallied back from being down 3-1 in the eighth and ninth inning.

Houston then hit back-to-back line drive jacks from middle infielders Jose Altuve and Carlos Correa in the 11th inning.

The Dodgers didn’t go down quietly, as Yasiel Puig homered and Enrique Hernandez singled to score Logan Fortsythe that tied the game at 5-5 in the tenth.

In the same inning, relief pitcher Chris Devenski entered the game to try and get the Astros out of the inning. With Hernandez on second, Devenski tried to pick him off, but the throw was a bad one. Luckily for the Astros, the ball hit umpire Laz Diaz right in the groin. That could’ve drastically changed the outcome of the game had Hernandez advanced to third.

As if the game couldn’t get any crazier, a Dodgers fan decided it was a good idea to go harass the Astros’ bullpen by hopping the fence only to get swarmed by security.

But the biggest moment of all was saved for the end. The Astros hit a two-run homer off the bat of George Springer to restore their two-run lead in the top of the 11th inning.

The Dodgers battled to the very end, and managed to hit a solo dinger to make it 7-6, because why not, right?

And that would be it for all the lead changes and theatrics…on the field.

Oh, and there was a brush fire pretty close to Dodger Stadium.

What a game, and what a night in Hollywood that seemed like something produced right out of a movie.

We couldn’t forget that Cameron Maybin’s stolen base won American free tacos!

Truly, a game for the ages, and a classic demonstration of sports at its finest. Game 3 goes Friday night in Houston. Good luck toping that one.
