Friday night was a big night for Henrik Sedin as the Vancouver Canucks captain recorded his 1,000th career NHL point. He reached the milestone nearly six minutes into the second period when he beat his former teammate Roberto Luongo for his 11th goal of the year.
After Henrik scored, he was met by his entire team in the far corner as they all came on the ice to celebrate their captain’s historic moment with him. As he made his way back towards the bench, he was intercepted by Luongo, who just was just looking to congratulate his former teammate.
Luongo and Henrik were teammates from 2006-2014, and nearly won a Stanley Cup together during the 2010-11 season. It was a classy move by Luongo, especially since he just allowed a goal.
