In this game between USA and Australia, one rugby player had teeth flying out of his mouth and was hoping that the ref would hold onto them for safe keeping.

Rugby is just about the roughest, toughest sport in the world, so some broken teeth aren’t going to stop a player. Still, they’ll want to keep as many real ones as they can, just don’t count on the ref to hold them.

As these Aussie commentators will let you know as they’re howling in the booth, the ref is no dentist and has no interest in putting anybody’s teeth in his pocket.

We totally understand the thought initially, there’s an initial hope that the doctor can do something with the teeth. You see it all the time in hockey too. One of the more memorable occasions in recent memory was Daniel Alfredsson picking up his teeth from the ice.

Gotta keep those chiclets safe.
