For the better part of our collective childhoods here at BarDown we have been playing sports video games. NHL, FIFA, NBA 2K, Madden, NCAA College Baseball, Rockstar Table Tennis...you name it we've played it.

So what happens when you spend just as much time in front of a screen playing sports games as you do watching live sporting events? Every thought we have gets passed through a distinct, pixel based filter. With that we present to you our newest series...Thumb League.

This week we set our sights on one of he most popular sports anthems of all-time....Darude "Sandstorm."

In recent years the classic in-arena tune has turned into a popular punchline amongst trolls in YouTube comment sections. However, that doesn't change the fact that when the beat drops on the track, everyone in the building gets swept up by the Sandstorm.

No need to ask anyone in the comments section what song that was. We can confirm that it was indeed an NHL17 rendition of Sandstorm.

So...is there any chance of the "Sandstorm" replacing the "Wave" as the go-to group cheer at sporting events?
