Right now, every NHL team had Stanley Cup aspirations, regardless of what happened last season.

Yes, even the Colorado Avalanche think they have a chance to win the Cup right now because it's the offseason and everyone has the same record right now.

That said, some teams made some major moves this offseason to better their Cup chances, and one of those teams was the Carolina Hurricanes.

Which #NHL team has improved the most since the end of last season?

The Hurricanes finished last season with 87 points, their highest point total since the 2010-11 season, and they went out and added the likes of Scott Darling, Justin Williams and Trevor van Riemsdyk to improve on that point total next season.

Darling was obviously one of the bigger acquisitions and Carolina fans are hoping the 28-year-old can provide some stability in between the pipes.

For now, though, he's providing fans with hope in the form of a positive and bold prediction.

Good thing I'm not good at golfing... cause the @nhlcanes won't be doing that so early next summer

Carolina hasn't made the playoffs since the 2008-09 season, but Darling doesn't care about the past.

It's all about the present and future, and the future looks very bright for the Hurricanes.

Also, for those superstitious fans that think Darling just jinxed the Hurricanes, we don't think (hope) that's not the case.  This, on the other hand, is a great example of how to jinx a team.
