The battle of Pennsylvania between the Penguins and Flyers is always entertaining in the playoffs.

One of the more memorable series recently between the two teams took place during the 2011-12 season.

The first two games featured a normal level of intensity between rivals, but Games 3 and 4 were insane.

The two teams combined for 158 penalty minutes in Game 3, which featured a Claude Giroux and Sidney Crosby fight.

Game 4 was only featured a combined 98 penalty minutes, which is still a ton, especially for a playoff game where fighting is rare.

The penalty minutes confirm how much the teams hated each other, and the reason the rivalry is relevant now is Scott Hartnell was asked about the 2012 series ahead of Columbus first round matchup with Pittsbrugh.

A ruthless backhanded compliment from Hartnell to say the least.

This series between the Penguins and Blue Jackets could very well get out of hand quickly as Brandon Dubinsky and Crosby have their own thing going along with all the history Sid has with Hartenll.

Add John Tortorella into the mix and you've got some combustible elements involved to say the least.
