Hockey is becoming younger almost as the years go by, with players on their entry-level contracts making significant impacts on their lineups earlier than ever. With more youth on the team means more youthful acitivites, like having video games consoles kicking around the arena.

The Senators have two players listed at 20 or younger on their current roster: 19-year-old Logan Brown and 20-year-old Colin White, who’s currently on the Sens’ injured reserve with a broken wrist suffered in the preseason.

With all the down time White has in rehabbing his wrist, the Sens TV crew got him and Craig Anderson to play some NHL 97 in the inaugural episode of Sens Play.

So why chose a game that’s 20 years old? White was born in 1997. Anderson, who’s 16 years older than White and just a month shy of being the oldest player on Ottawa, was picked to face off against White. White wasn't even born yet when the game was released, while Anderson was a year away from playing his first season in the Ontario Hockey League.

Anderson played the game growing up, and his experience showed as he won his match 3-0. White, who’s way more used to the contemporary versions of the game, failed to score in a 0-0 tie.
